Making Your First Call

This is a focused, step-by-step tutorial for making your first private call on HushCircuits.

Prerequisites

Before you can make a call, ensure you have:

  1. Registered your uplink number in Settings > Phone & PIN
  2. Added tokens to your wallet via Settings > Wallet
  3. Your phone nearby — you need to answer the bridge call

Step-by-Step

1. Enter the Destination Number

On the main dialer, tap the digits on the keypad to enter the phone number you want to call. The number appears in the green DIAL field at the top.

TIP

Use full international format for best results: +1-555-123-4567

2. Set a Caller ID (Optional)

Tap the cyan CID field to set a custom Caller ID. This is the number the target will see on their phone. If you don't set one, the system will use a default.

To keep the same CID across calls, tap LOCK CID.

3. Choose a Voice Effect (Optional)

Select a voice transformation:

  • OFF — Your natural voice
  • DEEP — Lower pitch for basic disguise
  • ROBOT — Synthetic, mechanical voice
  • ANON — Full anonymization with spectral masking

4. Press DIAL

Tap the green DIAL button at the bottom. The status strip will change to show the call progressing:

  1. INITIATING... — Request sent to the bridge
  2. CALLING — Bridge is dialing YOUR phone
  3. RINGING — Your phone is ringing — answer it!
  4. CONNECTED — You're on the line, bridge is now calling the target

5. Answer Your Phone

When your real phone rings, answer it. You'll hear a brief moment of silence, then the bridge connects to your target.

WARNING

If you don't answer within ~30 seconds, the call will time out and be cancelled.

6. During the Call

While connected, you'll see:

  • Call duration timer counting up
  • Estimated cost in tokens
  • The HANG UP button (replaces DIAL)

7. End the Call

Press HANG UP to disconnect. The call logs are saved automatically and can be reviewed in Settings > Call History.
